Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Honor the infinite love of Jesus' Heart - pray for mercy, conversion, and devotion
The Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus praises the love of Christ's heart in a series of invocations, such as Heart of Jesus, burning furnace of charity, and asks for mercy. It is a prayer of love and reparation connected with devotion to the Sacred Heart, which St. Margaret Mary Alacoque spread in the seventeenth century. It is especially fitting in June and on First Fridays. It fits into five or six quiet minutes. Praying it as a household, perhaps before an image of the Sacred Heart, helps children learn the names of Christ's mercy.
