Lord, I have just received news I was not prepared for. The words hit me like a blow — and I am still reeling.
I do not know how to pray right now. I do not have the right words, and perhaps that is okay. You know what I have just heard. You were there when I heard it. You see how much it has shaken me.
I do not ask You to fix everything instantly. I do not ask You to make the pain go away immediately. I ask only that You stay close. That You let me feel — the shock, the grief, the anger, the fear — without abandoning me in the middle of it.

Lord Jesus, when You heard that Lazarus had died, You wept. You did not immediately leap to resurrection — You wept first. Let me know that it is okay to weep. And then, when I am ready, remind me that Lazarus walked out of the tomb.
You are the God who brings life out of death, hope out of despair, and light out of the darkest nights. I do not see how yet. But I believe You can. Help my unbelief.
