Novena for Healing – 9 Days of Prayer

For physical, emotional, and spiritual healing through the intercession of Our Lord

The Novena for Healing is a prayer to Christ the physician for physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. It does not promise a particular outcome, but it places your sickness and your fear in his hands for nine days. It can be prayed for yourself or on behalf of someone you love, including those in hospital. Many people find comfort in the daily rhythm when everything else feels uncertain. It leaves room for the hard prayers too, such as asking for the strength to bear a long illness, or for peace when the answer is slow. You do not need to feel better to pray it; simply showing up each day is already an act of trust.

Novena for Healing – day by day

Day 1 – For Trust in the Divine Physician

Lord Jesus, You are the Divine Physician. You healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and made the lame walk. I come to You now with faith in Your healing power.

Lord Jesus, during Your earthly ministry, You healed all who came to You in faith. The woman who touched the hem of Your garment was made whole because she believed. Grant me that same faith. I place my body, my mind, and my spirit into Your healing hands.

I believe that You can heal me, Lord. Even if healing comes in a way I do not expect, I trust that Your will is perfect. Remove from me all fear and anxiety, and fill me with confidence in Your loving care.

(Mention your intentions here.)

Lord Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be... Amen.

Day 2 – For Healing of the Body

Lord Jesus, You took upon Yourself our infirmities and bore our diseases. By Your wounds we are healed.

Heavenly Father, Your Son Jesus bore our sufferings and carried our sorrows. By His stripes we are healed. I ask You now for the healing of my body. You who fashioned me in my mother's womb, You know every part of me.

Touch me with Your healing hand. Restore what is broken, mend what is damaged, and renew my strength. If it is Your will, free me from this illness and grant me health of body, that I may serve You with renewed vigor.

I trust in Your goodness, Lord, and I accept Your will in all things.

(Mention your intentions here.)

Lord Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be... Amen.

Day 3 – For Healing of the Mind

Lord Jesus, You calmed the storm on the sea. Calm the storms in my mind and grant me Your peace.

Lord, You know the burdens I carry in my mind. Anxiety, worry, sadness, and fear can overwhelm me. You who spoke peace to the raging sea, speak peace into my troubled thoughts.

Heal my mind, Lord. Free me from the chains of anxious thinking. Lift the weight of discouragement. Replace confusion with clarity, and despair with hope. Let Your light dispel every darkness in my mind.

Grant me the serenity that comes from trusting in Your providence, and the courage to face each day knowing You are with me.

(Mention your intentions here.)

Lord Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be... Amen.
