Our Lady of Guadalupe Novena – 9 Days of Prayer
Through Mary's miraculous appearance in Mexico
Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to the peasant Juan Diego on the hill of Tepeyac near Mexico City in December 1531, and the image on his tilma has drawn pilgrims ever since. She is honoured as Patroness of the Americas, and her message of tender care for the poor and unborn still speaks today. This novena places your family, your country and your intentions under her mantle. Her feast on December 12 follows the nine days with joy. Pilgrims in Mexico City still walk to the basilica on foot, and this novena lets you make a small pilgrimage at home.
A novena is nine consecutive days of prayer. Begin nine days before the feast (December 12) and finish on its eve. You can pray this novena at any time of year.
