St. Expeditus Novena – 9 Days of Prayer

For pressing and urgent situations where quick help is needed from heaven

St. Expeditus is invoked when help is needed quickly, with a tradition of acting promptly instead of delaying. This novena asks for his intercession in pressing matters such as an urgent bill, a looming deadline or a sudden crisis. It also reminds you to do what needs doing today. His feast is April 19. Because he is invoked for quick help, the novena is short and practical. It also teaches a habit: when something urgent needs doing, pray, then do it today and not tomorrow, with confidence that God works through your effort.

St. Expeditus Novena – prayer for all nine days

Intention: For Urgent Assistance in a Pressing Need

St. Expeditus, noble Roman youth, martyr of the faith, you received the grace of conversion and with courage you destroyed the temptation of delay, saying "TODAY!" Help me not to postpone what God asks of me.

St. Expeditus, you who are the patron of those in urgent need, I come to you with faith and trust. You know my situation and the urgency of my request. I ask you to intercede before Our Lord Jesus Christ for my intentions.

(Pause here to mention your intentions)

St. Expeditus, faithful servant of God, you chose to act immediately when called to follow Christ. You crushed the spirit of delay beneath your feet and said boldly, "Today! Not tomorrow!" Help me to act with the same courage and urgency in serving God and facing the challenges before me.

Bring my petition swiftly before the throne of God, and if it be His holy will, obtain for me a speedy answer. I trust in your powerful intercession.
