St. Joan of Arc was a young peasant woman who said she heard God's voice and led the French army to a turning point in a long war. She was captured, tried and burned in 1431, and the Church later declared her a saint. This novena asks for her courage, clarity and fearless faith. It is for anyone who must speak or act when the world does not understand. Her feast is May 30. Today she is remembered as a patron of France and of soldiers, and teens and young adults often turn to her. Pray it when courage is needed at work, at school or at home.

Intention: For Courage, Faithfulness to One's Mission, and Strength Under Persecution
O St. Joan of Arc, warrior-maid and martyr, you heard the voice of God when the world would not listen. You obeyed without hesitation, suffered without complaint, and died with the name of Jesus on your lips.
St. Joan of Arc, virgin and martyr, I honor your fearless faith and your total abandonment to God's will. When God called you to an impossible mission, you did not hesitate. When kings doubted you, you stood firm. When enemies condemned you, you did not deny your Lord.
I come to you in my own time of trial. I need courage to fulfill the mission God has given me — even when it seems impossible, even when others mock or misunderstand me.

St. Joan, you said: "I am not afraid. I was born to do this." Help me to discover what I was born to do and to pursue it with your holy boldness. Pray for me, that I may hear God's voice above the noise of the world and obey with your pure and trusting heart.
