St. John Paul II Novena – prayer for all nine days

Intention: For Courage, Youth, and a New Springtime of Faith

St. John Paul II, great pope and father of souls, on the first day of your pontificate you proclaimed to the world: 'Do not be afraid!' You lived those words with your whole life — through persecution, assassination attempts, and immense suffering.

St. John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla, fisherman of souls, I come to you in the name of the Church you served so faithfully. You gave us a theology of the body, a theology of mercy, and above all — a theology of love. You showed us that holiness is possible in every vocation.

You consecrated yourself to Mary with the words 'Totus Tuus' — totally Yours. Help me to find my own total consecration to God through whatever path He has set before me.

(Pause here to mention your intentions)

Dear saint, you carried the weight of the world on your shoulders with a joyful heart. Pray for me in my own burdens. Obtain the grace I seek in this novena. And help me to say with you: 'Do not be afraid. Open wide the doors to Christ.'

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory Be...

St. John Paul II, pray for us.

Pray this prayer once a day for nine days in a row.
